I have to admit when writing this post I was chuckling to myself. The notion that I could tell you what a woman wants seemed to be kind of ridiculous but when I started to research it I found some interesting fundamentals which formed a pattern and seemed to add up logically.

First and foremost as human beings all of us seek security, we look for security in our jobs and careers and we also seek it in relationships. Women unlike men bear children and for this very reason they will do anything to secure their offspring.

They want a guy who will protect them and be around for their child. The bottom line is this, they look for protection and a solid commitment before giving themselves over. They also seek to procreate and the guy who is consistent will generally succeed more than the flake.

All of these subconscious desires are born out of their female conditioning since the beginning of time, it’s really not that complicated when you look at it this way, but just like anything else, games can be played and confusing signals can lead to frustration for many men. However men are also guilty of this in actual fact we are far from innocent.

So remember women are looking for something solid and enduring. Security is their primary desire, if you really want that woman be prepared to stick around.

As the old saying goes, it is not what you say you will do, its more about what you do. I remember being in a bar with a friend and at the end of the night he said to me that women are tough, I cannot seem to make a connection.

I listened to him that evening and at the time I must admit he had a point. The following weeks we went out again and I watched what he was doing. Pretty much the whole night he stood there with his arms folded with this scowl across his face.

I don’t think he intentionally did it, because when I said to him he was unaware of how his body language was coming across. He did not realize that it was closed and defensive. The point is this; his body language suggested that he was shut down and not very happy.

So firstly check yourself, are your arms folded, do you look grumpy, do you smile, more importantly do you look like you are having fun? If the answer is no to all of the above or to any of above then you may be giving off all the wrong signals.

If this is the way you behave when you are out, then no girl will be comfortable around you. So let’s get down to business, first you have to take action, thinking about it will do nothing. Secondly whenever you are out, a simple smile can mean a lot.

Don’t just stand around with your arms folded. When and if you do chat with a girl do not ask personal questions, this coming from a stranger is creepy. Secondly do not touch her after you have just met her and do not tell her she is “fine” right out of the gate. Smile, keep your shoulders back, body language open and let her do the talking.

Listen for her hot buttons and most importantly find out what she enjoys and get her to laugh. Do not take yourself too seriously - feel free to poke fun. All in all enjoy yourself and she will enjoy herself.

Flirting is all about fun, being relaxed and comfortable with who you are. Then throw in a little play and you have all ingredients to attract the girl you want.

When it comes to picking up women there are some key factors that you need to consider. The last thing you want to do is get rejected. Rejection does nothing for your confidence and can curtail future approaches due to the fear of being rejected once again.

The goal before you make any approach is to look for signals. If you see a girl you like attempt to make eye contact. If you both catch one another’s gaze for a short period of time this could prove positive.

If she looks at you then looks away then looks back this is a signal of interest. To test this even further you could walk in her direction, if she is with friends and stops what she is doing then looks at you this once again implies interest.

You can say at this point that she is showing interest and as a result is open to your attention. No matter how many signals you get at some point you will need to make the approach.

To do so you can get closer in proximity, if you catch her eye again smile and see what response you get. If it is positive then its time to say “Hi”, you do not need all those cheesy chat up lines; it has been proven time and again that a simple “hi” is the perfect opener.

When chatting at first do not ask personal questions, if she is with friends do not ignore them. Introduce yourself; they after all may be the final judge. Listen to what she has to say, look at the body language, get her talking and most importantly make her comfortable.

On the last post we touched on some of the general ways you can tell if a girl likes you, so now its time to get into more detail. As we said women can be difficult to read at times so you really need to be aware of what to look for.

When you sit by a girl and she sits up and pays attention this is a sign of interest but there is more signs you need to be aware of.

As you begin to converse if she looks you in the eye and not immediately look away, then she is signaling that she wants to get to know you, its not by the way that you are going to have a staring match, if you shift your gaze before hers and so on, that is not a big issue, what’s important is that you both make eye contact.

When women like guys they have a tendency to touch them, just simple little things like brushing your shoulders or putting their hand on your arm. This physical affection is a sign that she is interested.

Whilst in your company if she is continually making adjustments to her clothing or hair and laughs at your jokes, presuming you have any, then she obviously is not ready to get sick all over you yet, unless of course you screw up. By the way if things are going well don’t get too full of yourself.

If she starts to play with you as in teasing and being sarcastic this is good sign, this signals that she is comfortable and is open to have fun.

Quickly on this post I am going to touch on some of the basics and generalities and then on the next post we will get more into what to look out for in terms of tell tale signs of attraction. Girls like us men do not like to give too much away in the fear of rejection, so we all play our cards close to our chests, so as to protect ourselves.

This as a consequence can make it difficult at times to tell if a girl is into you or not. With that said there are some basics that you can be aware of.

Often times it is not what we say but what we do and even more so what we do when we are not conscious of it, in other words subconscious actions that we are not trying to control.

When any human being is interested in anything their body language immediately changes, I mean you would not sit there slouched in your chair if your buddy came home and said he has won the lottery, instead you would sit up to make sure you heard him correctly and then ask follow up questions because you are interested in learning more.

As that event takes place in the immediate sense there are a lot of tell tale signs because of your immediate interest, during that time your actions and body language are very telling in terms of what you are interested in, it may change shortly there after, but as it happens in that brief moment a lot can be revealed.

Ok let’s talk about this in relation to a girl. Lets say she is sitting with some of your friends and she has never met you before, then when you come over she immediately sits up and pays attention, maybe even smiles or begins to subconsciously fix her hair or clothing, she may even ask to be introduced, but even if she does not, there is definitely signs of interest., after this brief moment she may become conscious of what she is doing and start to control it.
